101 Miller Sustainable Development Excellence
The Mirvac Group and Eureka Funds Management owned 101 Miller Street at North Sydney has taken out the highly contested Award for Sustainable Development at the 2009 Property Council of Australia Rider Levett Bucknall Awards for Innovation and Excellence.
The refurbished 101 Miller Street, a premium grade commercial building, sets a new sustainability performance benchmark for refurbished existing buildings.
At the centre of the project, the state-of-the-art trigeneration plant, an Australian first for an existing premium building, significantly improves energy and GHG performance.
The project achieved a 5 star Green Star rating (Office Design V2) and has produced a simulated 5 star + 40% NABERS Energy rating. Additionally, tenants can achieve a 5 star NABERS Energy (tenancy) rating with minimal capital outlay.
101 Miller Street now stands as a template to the industry of how to achieve outstanding financial and environmental performance from an existing building.
