Mirvac’s Office Tower, currently under construction at the Cathedral + Treasury Precinct, is set to become a new focal point in Perth’s CBD, rising 33 storeys above St George’s Terrace at the corner of Barrack Street. The flagship project combines contemporary design with state-of-the-art sustainability technology, being the first office building in Perth to feature a tri-generation plant.
An exclusive update was held for key stakeholders and media on Friday 28 March with Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi and Minister for Commerce Michael Mischin singing the praises of Mirvac and Keppel REIT’s contribution to the rapidly evolving City of Perth skyline.
Construction is progressing well with the level 6 slab poured and the lift core reaching level 9. Completion will see a transformation of the area – complementing the significant urban regeneration projects currently underway in the Perth CBD.
The project was recently awarded a 5 Star Green Star Office Design v3 Certified Rating and is targeting a 4.5-star NABERS rating. The Green Star rating represents ‘Australian Excellence’ in environmentally sustainable design and recognises a number of the building’s features including: energy performance, indoor environment, water efficiency, construction waste recycling, plus the promotion of sustainable transport, including secure bike storage.
With a net lettable area of approximately 30,600 square metres, the tower is scheduled for completion in FY15 at which time Mirvac and Keppel REIT will receive a 99-year ground lease from the State Government of Western Australia.
