Partnering with Climate Leaders on Carbon Reduction

6th December 2023

As a founding member of the Australian Climate Leaders Coalition (CLC), Mirvac has contributed to a new report which provides insights and practical experience in the development of Climate Transition Action Plans.

Australian Climate Leaders Coalition

The Credible Transition to Net Zero Insights report aims to equip leaders to identify opportunities for their organisations and communities through their decarbonisation transition.

The report shares case studies from the CEOs of some of Australia’s largest organisations, including Mirvac.

The CLC is a collective of approximately 50 CEOs, working together to collaborate to accelerate the transition to net zero through collaborative learning and action.

Campbell Hanan, Mirvac Group Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director said: “Mirvac has been actively involved in the CLC since its inception in 2022, supporting its work in helping companies navigate the complexities of decarbonisation.

“The aim is to help organisations achieve their carbon targets by looking at the transformation and systemic changes needed.

“Working together with shared knowledge helps companies like ours respond to changes in customer, community and employee expectations in the future.”

“It’s been two years since we reached net positive in our Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions and we’re now working toward net positive in the challenging area of Scope 3,” Campbell said.

“Some of the actions we’re taking to get there are to build all electric, explore ways to source 100% renewable energy for residential customers, partner with commercial customers to influence their fuel choices, and sourcing lower carbon materials.”
